Hi daddy I have always wondered why did you name Steve Steve,Peter Peter and mr hunter mr hunter? Are you related to any or are any your favourite names?.

Hi Luke – great question! Mr Hunter is named after one of my favourite teachers from Bell Baxter. Luckily, the real Mr Hunter wasn’t as grumpy though π I don’t know where the names Peter and Steve came from but when I first planned the book, Peter was originally called Duncan!

I wanted to write books that my boys could enjoy, as well as write about ideas that really interested me. This isn’t the first book I’ve written but it’s definitely been the most fun!

Did you call your book the suprvillian next door is it because you like supervillians or something else?

I find that book titles are the hardest part of the whole writing process. I considered many titles, most of which were pretty bad, but I thought this one was quite eye-catching and would interest readers.

Peter broke them by accident. He’s pretty clumsy!

Are you making a second and third book of the supervillian next door and are you turning them into movies?

I’m currently plotting the second book. No current plans to turn it into a movie but it would be amazing to see these characters in a film.

Hi if I’m right did I think Peter is one of the most common names and I think Steve is an uncommon name like mine, Luke

Hi, my favourite character is Santa because he delivers presents and I also have a question.
Why did you choose Santa and the tooth fairy? and not Jack Frost or Sandman.

I chose them because I couldn’t make my mind up who had the hardest job, so thought it would be fun for the characters to have the same debate.

Hi, who is your favourite between Santa, the tooth fairy and the Easter bunny?

Oooh, that’s a tough question, Ben. I’m not too keen on chocolate, so that rules out the Easter Bunny. I think my favourite would have to be the Tooth Fairy. Like me, she loves to drink milk π

My favourite characters change all the time! I do have a soft spot for Mr Atkinson, who does not have the best night when Santa and the Tooth Fairy visit his home. Other favourites are Luke and Ben – the best human helpers that any magical beings could ask for!

I’m working on another story at the moment, but then I’m going to start on SND2. You’ll find out some long-buried secrets, delve into the past of Mr Spence, and meet a terrifying new villain. Oh, and the introduction of a new superhero: SUPERBADGER π

I don’t know yet. Naming books is the hardest part of the whole writing process for me! Maybe I should come up with some options and ask readers to choose their favourite one!

The Supervillain Next Door came out in February 2019, and The Crazy Christmas Job Swap in November of that same year. One of the first stories that I remember writing was called ‘The Seven Doctors’. This featured all the Doctor Whos to that point, and I wrote it when I was about nine or ten.

How did you come up with the ideas for your books?

Ideas can come from the strangest places, although not always at the best times (my pet hate is having an idea when I wake up and then forgetting it by the time I’ve found a pen). The idea for my next book was actually inspired by photographs of a young boy (me!) at different ages!
