School visits

We’re four weeks into the school holidays and while my boys may not be missing school, I certainly am! That’s because one of my favourite parts of releasing The Supervillain Next Door has been visiting schools.

I’ve visited small schools and big ones, talked to packed assemblies and small classes, and it has been the most tremendous fun. Writing a novel can sometimes be a lonely experience when it’s just you and your laptop, so it’s great to get out there and meet readers.

One of my favourite parts of any school visit is the q+a session at the end – often because I never know what sort of questions to expect. I’ve been asked about influences, writing habits and whether I’m as rich as David Walliams (sadly,no!), and have hopefully managed to answer most questions put to me.

I can’t wait until the school visits start up again in the new academic year, and I’m also excited about what I have planned for visits promoting my second book. No spoilers 🙂
